Ashdale Awarded Fire Detection for new Tesco Extra Store

Installation contractors Ashdale are delighted to have been awarded the contract to supply and commission an Addressable Fire Detection System for Tesco. The installation will be at the new multi million pound Tesco Extra Store at the Castlebawn Retail Complex in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. "Whilst we have worked with Tesco in other business areas this is the first time we have secured a Fire Detection project for them," commented Ashdale's Service Manager.

Working under the Electrical Contractor JBE Building Services, Ashdale have commissioned a three loop fire detection system using Apollo open protection fire devices and a "Tesco Approved" Advanced Electronics Fire Detection Control Panel.

The Tesco specified advanced fire control panel, ranging from 2 loops to eight loops, deal with network wide sophisticated cause and effect programming. The panels are special pre built units which comes complete with Tesco branded electronic LCD and factory fitted key switches for indication and plant control.

The Newtownards site is part of a recent £250 million development plan of the region and comprises various retail units, including the new Tesco Extra Store. The development covers an estimated 300'000M² with the new Tesco store, and associated retail units, covering over 80'000 Sq ft.
